About
Ricardo Escada was born in December 1979 and quickly revealed his interest in photography. He was already taking photographs at age 14, but it was his interest in the performing arts that led him to pursue his academic career at Chapitô. There he honed his technique and developed a passion for acting, and today he reveals that “If I could, I would perform every day.”
He doesn’t like to call himself an actor, preferring to cite his relentless pursuit of that status. His participation in films, series, and soap operas such as “Fátima” by Marco Pontecorvo, “Raposa” by Leonor Noivo, “O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis” by João Botelho, “Ministério do Tempo,” “Bairro,” “Anjo Meu,” “Jardins Proibidos,” and “Rainha das Flores” are just a few examples of his extensive and versatile acting career!
This trajectory also includes his more recent participations in the series “Emília”, by Filipa Amaro (2023), in the series “O Americano”, by Ivo M. Ferreira (2024), and in the film “Justino – Nos Bastidores do Reino”, by José Eduardo Belmonte (2026).
However, he never abandoned photography, and in parallel with acting he has dedicated himself to that art. Currently, he has returned to his origins and does social photography!
A man passionate about acting, he seeks in photography its antithesis: capturing truth, essence. Ricardo Escada, the “actor” who photographs being, not seeming.
